Colby Co. was recently named as one of the 2018 Best Places to Work in Maine. This statewide survey and awards program was designed to identify, recognize and honor the best places of employment in Maine, benefiting the state’s economy, its workforce and businesses.
The 2018 Best Places to Work in Maine list is made up of 75 companies in three size categories: small (15-49 U.S. employees), medium (50-249 U.S. employees) and large (250+ U.S. employees).
Companies from across the state entered the two-part process to determine the Best Places to Work in Maine. The first part consisted of evaluating each nominated company’s workplace policies, practices, and demographics. The second part consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience worth approximately 75% of the total evaluation. Comments from the anonymous survey included:
“They care about your well being, your family and you. They give back so much – I feel valued here and appreciated, I love my work environment and I am happy to come work with the people here, too.”
“This organization values it’s employees more than any other company out there. Everyone in the company is looked at and treated as a valuable team member and everyone works together towards common goals. Even considering tight deadlines and challenging projects the company has strong teamwork and everyone feels appreciative of the work they perform.”
“They foster a system where we are all peers working together and where everyone’s opinions are valued and decisions are made as a team. They also emphasize the employees families and the belief if you work hard, you should be rewarded, and achieve this through numerous company hosted events and activities.”
